How to hook up EL cable?

I bought two 3' sections of EL cable off ebay.. I didn't realize they were bare - meaning that it's the cable, with a positive & negative wire sticking out.

I'm guessing that 12v will fry it, so I can't just hook it up to the PSU.

Anyone know how I should do it? Is it even DC power? Do I need an inverter?

Any help would be great.

Yeah, you need an inverter. I'm not sure what the voltage is out of the inverter though.
