How to get these temps down

I think my temps are a bit high for my system. The room temp is 70F. Here is my setup:

2.8C
IC7-G
1GB HyperX PC4000
3 7200rpm hard drives
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Matrox G200 PCI
ATI TV wonder
Antec NeoPower 480w
2 80mm exhaust fans
1 120mm front intake

Watercooling:
RBX block on P4
Maze4 on 9800 Pro
Aquaxtreme 12v pump
2Fresh heatercore
Weapon Shroud
2 120x38mm YS Tech fans running low speed, blowing down onto the heatsink. The fans push air down through the top of the case and through the heatercore.

The northbridge has the stock Abit cooler on it, and my motherboard's mosfets have aluminum ram sinks.

I think my temps should be much cooler, and my system should be able to run with even less fans. Are there any ideas as to what could be causing this? The system is dust free, and I just reapplied AS5 to the CPU, and it yields the same temperatures.

i'll tell you this, that 9800 Pro adds a lot (I mean a lot) of heat into the loop. Then again, know this, the Y splitter slows down the flow of water. I am not sure by how much, but if you think about it, it does.
 
The Y splitter is supposed to increase flow, as there's two exhausts from the block, and one intake.
 
If your Abit MB is anything, like the rest of their MB family your bios is buggy causing high temps to be read by the onboard sensors.
 
I just ditched the elbow at the pump intake, and am down to a 38C idle. I still think this thibng can go much lower. Any more ideas?
 
Are you overclocking at all? I'd imagine so, thus the watercooling, but what kinda speeds are you getting? You have the same setup as me and I am on air. I will tell you that the abit temps are about 10 degrees high, reference this very scientific study to see. I just went into MBM5 and lowered my displayed temps by 10 degrees for an acurate reading. To each his own though.

Oh and how is that neo 480? I was looking to get one, due to being unable to hit 250 FSb on my chip. I think my psu is going to crap. I hear the tornado I have rev up and down all the time. I have it hooker to a fan controller and it only does it when I have it off full blast. It goes up and down and is quite annoying, so I have to go full bore most of the time and thats even more annoying. I am looking at the new exos-2, but 350 plus colling blocks is expensive for wc. I am going to be moving soon and don't have the time or drive to look at doing my own wc right now either. Oh well. Think my psu is crapping out?
 
SocceRich20 - That Y-splitter just restricts tyhe flow, as KrakanGuy said. It doesn't matter if you have two exhausts, if you're gonna cram them back together 3 inches away...

jagzzzzzzz, the NEOPower is absolutely a great investment.
 
So it'll possibly help me with OCing stability? Does it sound to you like my PSU is crapping out?
 
Well, it will definately stay rock solid. I have a shitty power box at home, and my rails fluctuate 0.05 volts at THE MOST. And that is the reading on only one (the worst) rail, before the regulator ICs on the motherboard smooth out the power...

Also, the design of the NEOPower is setup so that is most efficient at ~70%-80% load. I probably have it under 50% in my system.

I don't want to say that I know your system, I would have to see it for myself. But, from what I could get out of your description, I don't think it's your power supply. The CPU is going to be one of the last FSB limiting factors.

Hey thats the same thread that I referenced. So you do NOT think my PSU would be the cause of unstability at 250 FSB? I am running at 243 right now which is 3.4. Haven't had a single glitch all day with it and I did some benching and gaming. Maybe thats the limit. I am open to all advice. Is 3.4 out of a 2.8 northwood a decent overclock on air. I wonder if an exos 2 would do me better. Hmmmm.
