how to format drive?

i just started my comp, i have a unformated sata drive in there with 939dual-sata2 mobo, for some reason it won't read my floppy boot disc, what can i do?
 
Go to a friend's place and use his computer, you'll need your windows xp install disk, service pack 2 full install, nlite and your sata drivers, with nlite slipstream the sp2 and the sata stuff to a new install disk and use that to boot your new computer and install windows :D

or you could try another boot floppy........ (www.bootdisk.com)

or you could try booting directly off the windows install CD.....

or you could check your floppy settings to make sure the drive works.....
 
I have:

1. a new computer with no other HDD and need to install the OS but its not recognized
a. if the SATA isnt recognized it a BIOS setting

2. a new computer with no other HDD and need to install the OS and its recognized
a. during the install your lacking a driver, but you can format with the install CD as mentioned

3. Im adding a HDD
a. provided the BIOS and OS recognize the drive and you have a functioning install already
Start > Run > (type) compmgmt > RClick unpartitioned space > Partition & Format
