i have a sata hdd but when i installed windows i didnt have a floppy with the sata drivers on it..
am i gettin the most out of my hdd? or should i reformat and put in the sata drivers?
or does windows xp (sp2) already come with it?

It depends on the controller and the HD. Are they both SATAII? Normally the controller can assume PATA emulation and not require drivers, but for SATAII (300Mbps burst, NCQ) or RAID, the drivers will be required AFAIK. If you want to enable those features, no need to reformat, just install the drivers through device manager and use the hard drive maker's utility if required (i.e. Hitachi).
