How to enable audio over HDMI?

right click on the speaker on the bottom right corner, select play back devices, right click on the hdmi connection and select make default, this should fix it.

are you sending it to a receiver that can receive both audio / video over HDMI?

Sending it to a TV

I don't have that option to send it to a HDMI, I only have one for Speakers and S/PDIF.

Tried that, and I'm already running the latest drivers.

I discovered that the video card was overheating and causing the system to crash anyway. Also, I noticed it to be significantly slower than the Quadro 3450 it was replacing. I knew it was going to be slower, but it's affecting Windows Media Center. I'm going to mess around with slowing the fan speeds on the Quadro down to keep the noise down.

5xxx series cards have some annoying problems with HDMI. One of these problems is that they don't detect an audio output device unless the TV is turned on before the computer. I've read you can fix this problem by using the realtek HDMI audio driver instead of the one that comes bundled with the ATI drivers.

The HTPC subforum is a great place to search for issues like this.
