this is what i want to do, is it possible???

id like to buy a PSU, a bunch of HD's and just install them in an empty case with the PSU. Run all Sata ports to a hub, and plug into my laptop. run the PSU into each drive, and have it turn on with the front power button or a switch on the back of the PSU.

no motherboard, basically no second computer involved. I have enclosures, but like everything in ONE big case.

can this be done?

i was toying with the idea of just building this case, but it seems more trouble than its worth :)

probably just build a new computer. Woulda just rather spent that money on HD's and such though
