Yes this is on by default even in retail. So much for the apologists that swore the keylogging was "just during the beta/TP and wouldn't be in the retail". SMH.

1. Press Shift + F10 on the loginscreen to open a commandprompt

2. Input the following commands:

sc delete DiagTrack
sc delete dmwappushservice
echo "" > C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\ETLLogs\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl

Uh, no key combination opens an admin/system level command prompt from the login screen. That would be incredibly stupid to let anyone bypass any and all windows security by forcing a reboot and then just hitting two keys. Granted you can overwrite certain accessibility tools with cmd.exe but that requires previous admin access or modification via boot disk, maybe you skipped this step?

Also that file doesn't exist in RTM Win 10, maybe whoever you got this from had previously had the beta and that file was a remnant that hadn't been deleted?

Would like to see a lot more "proof" than just "haha told you so SMH" and then instructions that won't work.

Just got done upgrading my laptop to Windows 10 Pro.. Pressed Shift + F10 at the login screen and it did nothing. I don't see the problem here.

10 bucks says simply disabling DiagTrack from services.msc does the trick too.

Tinfoil hat +1

It's a completely legit fear though in this day and age. They started moving this direction with Windows 8 and have come out during Windows 8's development (back then) that by Windows 10 we'd have a full cloud based OS. That was Microsoft's supposed internal plan according to insiders. Of course this was taking into account we'd still have Windows 9 so things are a little different, but if you consider 10 to essentially be 9, then the development of the cloudy OS has already moved into high gear.

We will see another Windows despite the claim 10 is the last, and by then it'll be even worse. Tin foil hat or not, this is going to happen. Period.

Thought the same exact thing even before scrolling down. Like whaaaat?

Why not read over all the issues with Windows 10 since beta and data mining MS does, it is not tinfoil hat paranoia, it is MS turning YOU into the product and tracking everything you do by default.

+2. Microsoft was falling behind the competition Facebook and Google. Now it has overtaken them to be the industry leader in intrusiveness.
