hey guys, got a question here. I have a 2x300gb sata2 raid array and one of the drives has been giving me an unfortunate amount of grief as of late. lots of checksum and read/write errors. all happened within the last hour or so. I'm loading up my backup array and gonna run off of that for a while.

how can I determine if it's about time to move onto another set of drives for my raid array? could this just be a fluke? should I disable the raid array and do a full check disk for bad sectors on each of the drives?

please let me know, your help is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Level of RAID?
RAID manufacturer?
RAID Driver, config software?
Drive manufacturer?
Drive age?
Grief?

Level of RAID: RAID 0
RAID manufacturer: nVidia (marvell I think)
RAID Driver, config software? latest nvidia reference drivers
Drive manufacturer? Western Digital 320GB SE16 SATA2
Drive age? Barely a year
Grief? Lots. Began complaining that one of the drives began having write errors and that it was set down to SATA1 to limit the problems.

I got two new drives, copied everything over, and put the new array in. should I just warranty both of the other drives?

No, you should run WD diagnostics on them and see if either of them is bad. You really didn't do much to isolate the problem. It could have been a RAID controller issue that may happen again with your new drives eventually.
