How to delete mutiple files in winxp recovery console?

I have this majorly fubared machine at work that I seem to have removed all viruses from, but whatever was on it created a ton of .zip and .exe files in every folder on the computer (that's about 9000 .zips).

I can't delete them all from windows, some of them give me access denied errors. My question is, is there a deltree equivalent in recovery console?

I desperately want to type deltree *.zip, but the command does not exist.

Have you tried deleting them in safe mode?
