I have an amp with black and red RCA inputs at the back, and a PC with a SB Titanium Fatality sound card inside it. There is no RCA output from the soundcard, only analogue and SPDIF.

What's the best way to connect the two without compromising on sound quality? Or am I better off getting a new sound card which has RCA outputs, like the Xonar Essence.

Many thanks

Just different connectors, they carry exactly the same signal. Most sounds cards don't have RCA jacks on the back because they take up alot of space. 1 3.5mm jack replaces 2 RCAs.

Actually, on the X-Fi cards one 3.5mm jack replaces 3 RCA plugs. You just have to find the right cable and you can get 7.1 analog output.
