Hello

I got a 225BW and under the option there is something like MagicColor, Fine, Sharpness, Coarse and Transparency.

Can someone explain to me what those mean? MagicColor makes things more colorful?

I try compare to same image against my Sony laptop "SZ360" and for some odd reason, I can't make it look as good as my Sony. Is it possible to look as good as my laptop?

I first I really like this 225BW, but when I compare images with my laptop, Samsung just falls behind especially in the color red.

Thank you in advance

Well, for a start, the 22" sammy gives samsung a bad name in that it uses a damned chimei/cmv panel. What is wrong with their own panels? One this one the 22" it is 6 bit dithered, not sure but likely to be a tn instead of a s-pva or s-ips panel. It seems that most 22" panels now are chimei because of price & not quality. The 215tw samsung is a great monitor, & so to is my 244T.

OK, back to your other problem. Magic Tune is really samsung's OSD. In the setup you will create your own 'custom' mode - very useful. Red, blue, & green are easily modified to taste as well as any other setting up or calibrating task.

If you could get a refund, the 215tw is a way better monitor.

have fun

What about Fine, Sharpness, Coarse and Transparency?

What do those mean?

Those need to be max?

I try searching online but no luck. Can someone kindly explain

Thank you in advance

The 225bw is an excellent monitor and don't let someone throw you off. The 21 inch widescreen has a couple perks over the 22 inch as the price is much more, but not much.

This thread has lots of talk on the monitor.

I have increased my RED a little as I found it helped quite a bit. You will see a post where I share what I set the monitor to as I liked these settings a bit more (turned down contrast and brightness and gamma as well). Depends on what you like and your video card.
