I have an old laptop HD I need to get pictures off. I bought an IDE Drive to SATA adapter. I hooked it up but I did not see the drive. Do I need to change something in the BIOS so it will see it on my computer?

I have never had a single IDE to SATA adapter that has worked. I bought an IDE external enclosure on eBay for $5 and hooked it through usb.

The one adapter I got with my old Abit motherboard is when SATA was the new thing worked. Only with older drives. Never could get it to work with newer IDE drives.
