How successful is x800 pro -> XT flash?

I've just about given up on waiting for the x800 XT here in Australia, but i cannot live with the compromise of going to a 6800 card . Just wondering about the success rate of getting the x800 pro and flashing it to xt.

Sigh, avoiding the whole I hate ATI/nVidia thing...

There's a pretty lengthy post up in the ATI sub-forum on the topic. All in all, looks like at least a fair % of the VIVO Pros are being successfully unlocked and OC'd to XT-PE speeds. Root around up there and you can read the like 7 pages of posts on it or you can go over to rage3d and read their ~12 pages.

my roomate just bought a Sapphire Toxic x800Pro w/ VIVO and is planning on trying this byt the end of the week, supposedly there have been decent results with it.

Did mine with zero problems. Running stock x800pe speeds with full 16 pipes on a ati x800pro vivo. Havent had any games crash any artifacts in games etc.. Only problem ive noticed is in the troll part of 3dmark03 it does some weird texture tearing but thats its. Every game runs perfect.
