2x74GB Raptors. Should I do two in RAID-0 or two single drives? I alreay have the drives, so please don't flame me for wasting money...

Single drives. One for OS and normal programs, the other for games and that kind of thing.

Two single drives. I would put OS and games on one, pagefile and apps on the other.

Ill 3rd that.....OS on one and Pagefile/Games on the other.....

Plus I would never flame....I have 2 also, and I love em to death :)

Brace yourselves.

My dad is sitting over my shoulder here, and he says you guys don't know what you are talking about. Says that I should put the OS and pagefile on one drive, and games/apps on the other. He claims that once the OS is loaded into memory, the OS drive won't be used anymore, and thus it is wasteful to put the pagefile on a different drive than the OS. I respect my dad's opinion (he did work with TI for a long time), but you guy's logic seems to make more sense. Is he correct here?

Don't flame, he is the reason I ended up with two free Raptors...

yeah that true the os does get loading into memory the harddrive wouldnt be doing any work, and the only 2 things that make the harddrive work is the pagefile and apps such as games

u could go 1) os/apps & pagefile or 2) os/pagefile & apps

either would work but #2 makes more sense since ur using hd space more efficently

but this is just based on what i read and im sure ur dad knows more :p

Very funny

I'll try it both ways and see what works better, I'm about to redo my computer, and installing Windows a few times means nothing to me. I'll just try them both and see what feels best. Thanks guys, and sorry if the old man offended you. :D

No offense taken.......I have read literaly hundreds of articles that reccomend setting it up the way we told you, its your machine, you do whatever works for you.

You can spend a few hours reading what Ice Czar has posted on this subject, its a good read and Im sure youll find your answers in there.

The truth is, it really does depend on your use for your machine, what will be better..

I gave my son my old 36 Raptors and he does what he wants with them.....He is 14 now, and he knows WAY more than I do :)
