I had been running my Antec TPII 480 psu with the system in my sig for a while with seemingly no problems. I would notice, however, that after playing CSS for a few minutes, it would get choppy, even with only 4 out of my 5 drives powered on. I have a feeling that my current PSU might not be cutting it, so I order a PC Power and Cooling 510 SLI to see if it helps at all.
Now whenever I play CSS it is smooth as butter
It seems as if my "480w" power supply wasn't cutting it. Putting my system through a PSU calculator netted me 485 watts (http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp , best one I've found), and it seems the 510 is pumping that out just fine.
So before thinking you have enough power at your hands, double check, it could save you some headaches in the future.
