I just noticed my Aquagate cooling system showing me it has a low reservoir. I have moved this to a couple LANs and such and have lost some liquid in each move. How often should I see this type of low alarm while averaging a LAN party move every 2 months? I have checked the system and not cracks or leaks have been found.

Coolermaster Aquagate (the cheap one that went on sale and is no longer sold)
CPU block that it came with.
Thermaltake 120MM radiator with fan.

I used 3/4th of a bottle to get it initially filled. Now the bottle is gone.

i used to fill up my fill tube (about 1 foot of 1/2" tubeing) once every 2 mounths.. i moved to a glass res, and marked the fill line when i did it, it hasnt moved in about 1.5 years now.. maybe i had a defective dangerden fill port.. but that would make 2 fill ports that where defective.. because they both did it.. (im thinking the water condensation was able to leech past the seals no matter how tight i made it.. my current res has no fill port i screw a barb into the bottom of a bottle and thats it..(rubber seals .. of course) )

Every system will lose a little fluid through penetration, how much and how often you have to add fluid depends on the qualitly of all the components that make up your system.

The permeate always migrates to the lower concentration in three steps:

Sorption (at the interface): Gases, vapour or dissolved chemicals or suspended substances are adsorbed at the surface of the solid.
Diffusion (through the solid): The permeate penetrates the solid material through pores or molecular gaps.
Desorption: The adsorbate leaves the solid as a gas.

depending on what type of tubing you are using, coolant will evaporate out of the tubing walls, especially in vinyl tubing.

when i first got my loop up and running some 3 months ago, i noticed the level in my swiftech mcres went down a couple mm every night for about a week, and then i filled it back up. about every 2 weeks i see the coolant drp about 1-2mm. havent filled in quite a while - but on thursday i get my new fittings for my EK fc8800gts block, and will be draining it and refilling then.

ill give you an update of how things go at that time :)

Guess I should go get another bottle then. Might need to fill it before vacation.:D

Personally If I had a watercooling setup. I would defintaly turn off my computer if I were to leave for work, vacation, anything over 30 minutes :p

I wouldnt be able to sleep knowing "what if" it started to leak lol. Bye bye computer..

heh.. i have had hoses come OFF while at work.. water every where... but the pc was off.. i have been lucky that it has never hit the PSU.. but other wise.. i have never .thats right.. never killed a part do to water leakage.. (even when i over tightened a lexan top cracked it, didnt notice and filled my agp port full of water (with a card in it, and running doom3 at the time.. ) yup.. up and running with water on the board... nada... again.. i admit.. there was a good amount of luck involved.. but other wise, i leave my wc loop running 24/7/365... but the system gets shut off if im away for more than 2 hours.. to each there own i suppose.. (i look at it like.. well if i fry something.. it was time to upgrade it any way.. )

myns alwas off if im not at the computer, but the chance of a leak is minuit.
