While this isn't tech-related, it's still kind of neat to just kick back on Christmas Eve and watch videos that show you how much work goes into making a nutcracker.

The mouth opens and closes via a lever on the back. Lift the lever to open the mouth and drop your nuts in. Push down on the lever and *crunch*.

Depending on who makes it, how it's made, the materials used, the overall size, and (most importantly) how it's used/abused will determine durability and longevity.

Nutcrackers are made starting with two XX Chromosomes. They bake for 9 months, and once out of the oven they are trained for 18-25 years. Once training is complete, they are usually quite prolific at cracking nuts.
