How much would it cost for eyefinity at max settings?

How much $$ would it cost to have eyefinity with max settings in most if not all games? I was thinking of making the jump, but not if its going to a arm and a leg financially. Its either a AsusVE278Q or 3 23" monitors. Im just trying to see people with eyefinity setups how much they spent. Thanks. Please no replies about how great it is or isnt, im just looking for prices.
 
I have a single 6970 which does the job for eyefinity just fine. I paid 400 when it first released but it has gone down in price since then. That would be my recommendation. Or a 6990 if you feel that you can pay the price foe one.
 
You can probably do okay with a single card but you wouldn't come close to maxing out your games eye candy. However, amd is so much more flexible with configs that even if you don't have enough cash now, you can upgrade rather easily later. You're looking at 300 bucks at the very least on the video card excluding what you'd pay for the monitors.

If I had to put a number on a config that'll net you max eye candy including monitors, you're looking at spending around a grand for a modest setup (cards and monitors). This, providing you're not spending more than 500-600 on the monitors and you're looking at 2 midrange cards in crossfire or a single higher end card.

In my case, I spent close to 1800 bucks for the privilege. 3 25" monitors and 2 GTX 480s. This was months ago before the 580s arrived.
 
yea, 1800 is too much for me. Im anal about things and I think the bezels would be a problem ( even though Id probably get used to them) Ive been gaming on 1 monitor for 13 yrs.. ill stick with it. Gonna go with the ASUS 27" LED monitor and just use my current 24" as a side monitor and continue with my plan of adding another 6970 to my rig in the fall for BF3, Elder scrolls 5 and deus ex and Rage. Thanks for the replies guys :)
