Is there an equation to get the volume of water that your watercooling loop require?

I'll settle for an empirical solution :p

Should the reservoir and the rad be completively filled with water? or should only the reservoir? or something else?

Fill er right up. The only thing that should have any air in it should be the res - and that air should only be there because the res is catching it as it comes out of the loop and preventing it from circulating further.

Bubbles create noise and hurt performance. You want to get them all out of the tubes and blocks :).

so the radiator completely filled with water, and the reservoir half full, quarter full?

Indeed the radiator has to be full for maximum cooling potential.

What you do is this fill your response 3/4 the way and once your pump gets water in it turn the pump on till the res gets close tow empty then turn pump off fill the res to 3/4 again and repeat till the res stops going down then let the pump run for a few hours then top off the res to close to the top

You need enough to fill it up. You don't need any fancy empirical solutions. Plain distilled water works great ;)

The reservoir, in addition to trapping air and making the loop easy to fill, is needed to handle the changes in volume that heating/cooling causes.

This isn't a massive issue, just don't fill your loop to the absolute fullest and you're fine.

Oh I see

Thanks guys, now I'm gonna get to work on this watercooling setup of mine :)
