How much vibration is normal for a PSU?

I know that with any sort of moving part minor vibrations are normal. However, sometime in the past 24 hours my PSU has started vibrating. It's an Antec Earthwatts 500. Should I be worried about this...or is it just normal?

Unacceptable, needs repair/return unless you can determine that it is safe for sure.
Vibration can cause movement and/or fatigue in components.
Not something you want in a PSU.

RMA to Antec immediately!

When the fan dies, the PSU will over-heat & hopefully shut-down before anything else gets damaged,
but there are no guarantees & your whole system is at risk.

That's not normal at all.

No consumer power supply is supposed to vibrate at any load.

how about make a buzzing noise like a high pitched noise? i hear that only when i play games. is this a bad thing?

Could just be a noisy coil, or it could be failing caps. Considering your signature lists a Smartpower series PSU and those have quite a reputation (the bad sort), I'd lean toward the latter.

To the OP: As others have said, your fan is dying. RMA immediately.
