How much to pay for a U2711?

I see on dell's canada site they are selling for $850 not refurbished but I don't think I can get that shipped to the US. On ebay I found one for $709 refurbished shipped. But if I'm spending THAT much on a display I'm not sure I'll want to have it break and have no recourse. Thoughts?
 
I want IPS, I'm not a big fan of bezels, and the 6144x1152 res is too wide really. I'd stick with it if they were 4:3 aspect ratio screens...
 
Wow, I see that the samsung 305t and hp lp3065 are both selling for like 600-700 on fleabay. pull trigger?
 
I really want a 27" monitor for gaming though. I picked the ASUS VE278Q so far, but I am really torn.
Is that Dell U2711 really that much better and can it be justified for the price difference?

I am going with a new build i7 2600K and nVidia GTX 580.
I keep reading about Eyefnity, but I will have to do more reading on it because I have no idea what it is yet.

@ OP, what did you end up getting?
 
I bought mine on Ebay for under 800 (like 780 or something) with my 10% off ebay coupon, great deal great monitor.

I could probably have just gone with a 1920x1200 and perhaps thats what I should of done, but the massive number of pixels is just great and games look amazing.
 
I have read that the Dell U2711 is not the greatest for gaming due to its relatively high input lag whatever that is. Is that true?
 
Should've picked one up last week, Dell Canada had it for $749. Managed to convince them to take $100 off due to a non-functioning 15% coupon, came to $649 before taxes and enviro fees.

I havent noticed anything. Played RTS, FPS games on it. If anything it has too many pixels and I need a second 6970 to run it.
