I'm about to build a computer for my brother, and while I built mine, which im using now, I'm worried about too much thermal paste...I've heard many things. one is that you just use a rice size amount, and two that you barely cover the entire chip, which is right? I barely covered my intire chip, and its been fine for a year now, but I heard that was bad. So I was wondering which is the right way? Thanks.

rice size, make sure you use a razor or credit card and spread it evenly ( like icing on a cake) keep in mind, you dont want it to ooze out when you clamp the hsf down,\\

ie. too much slop

Arctic Silver is good stuff and their website has application instructions. Can't go wrong there.

Thank you all for the quick responces! I think I will be able to do it. After all, I did build the rig in the sig, and its the one I'm on now. Thanks.
