Hey guys,

Currently my company is running a Cisco PIX501 Firewall, which is managed by our internet provider. I am looking into ISA server as an alternative. I currently have several Dell Power edge 2900 servers with Dual 2.4Ghz HT P4/Xeon, 1Gb DDR and and Gigabit. Will this run a ISA server that will have in upwards of 100 open firewall connections, and about 25 VPN users? I have not ruled out just getting a small server from Dell to run this like the M800 series or something to that extent. Any Ideas or comments would be appreciated.

The dual Xeons will easily suffice....you'll also want fast disk....SCSI/SAS, 10k or higher, and stuff it with RAM.

How many users, and how fast is the pipe?
