How much room in a TT Lanbox?

I have a Thermalright MST-9775LE, which is 71mm high, and fits fine. The Scythe SCMNJ-1000 Mini Ninja is 115mm high, and I've heard it just doesn't quite fit - I think the max is 105-110mm or so... anyone have any exact measurements?

oh, interesting. i really like the zalman black ball like cooler. i think it is 110mm. i wonder if it would fit.

Max HSF hight in a LANBOX is 100mm i believe. Im currently running a XP-90 with a 90x25 fan for a total installed hight of 96mm inverted. You can also find 80 or 90x15mm fans and not have to invert them to exhaust into psu.

XP120 - 63mm+25mm fits. 38mm does not fit; thats about 2mm over.

Yeah, you have about 100mm.

What's the 25mm? Say I'm on newegg, and I look at sizes, am I limited to 75mm?

25mm 120x120 fan.

A grand total of 88mm with a XP120, and just under 96 (as said) with a XP90.

Also, how big of a video card will fit? Dimension wise? I've read that the 8800GTX's will fit, but how about the 8800GT?

If you have a motherboard like the ASUS P5K-VM, the PCI-E x16 slot is in the position closest to the CPU, so *unlike* in that picture (where someone is using a F-I90HD), you don't have to mod/cut the vertical 3.5" bay. Also, on the Lanbox Lite, they made it so you only have to remove one screw to take out the dual 3.5" bay in the front, whereas it looks like you have to take out a bunch in that picture.

So pay attention to the motherboard you use. A F-I90HD motherboard in a Lanbox case would require modding, but a P5K-VM wouldn't be a problem at all, as long as you're fine with one 3.5" bay (and if you're ok with only one CD/DVD drive, you could always put a 3.5" hard drive in a 5.25" bay with a bay adapter if you still wanted two hard drives).

it fits fine, you just cant use the lower hard drive cage. Or at least it fits fine without it period, putting it in hasn't been experimented.

If you use a single hard drive, it doesn't really matter; I just took it out all together to free up airflow.

The holes used to hold the cage in place are handy zip tie anchors anyways.

I'm actually runnign a thermalright ultra-120 in my Lanbox lite but i had to custom make a new rear backplate to move the power supply to above the I/O cards. Running an 8800GS 640mb and still using the stock HDD drive bay

So somebody DID do it. I'd search for it, but I don't have any time; do you have pictures?

Always wondered if it could be done... not that the XP120 isn't working.

I dont have any pictures up but i just used a sheet of 1/16th aluminum, holesawed a couple holes for the psu airflow, added an 80mm fan where the psu USED to be and drilled and countersunk some screw holes to attach it to the back plate, oh yeah its only on the top half of the rear back plate.

I'm out of town but i'll put up some pics on the weekend

oh yeah running at 3.0ghz my idle temps are about 31dec and load up to about 44deg. @2.8ghz idle is 26-28deg and load up to 38deg
