Heres what im shooting for (upgrade wise)

7800gtx sli, dual core 3ghz p4... audigy 2 zs platinum, 2 gigs of ddr2 533mhz (maybe one step higher) memory.... 1 sata 160 gig hard drive, 1 160 gig IDE hard drive... 2 120mm fans that come stock on the p180, a pci fan as well as 2 new fans for the front of the case (not sure what size, but i'd say 120mm

how many watts am I looking at and what are some good power supplies I should go for?

All this would be thrown into an antec p180...

Have you tried the calculator in the sticky?

For anyone to give suggestions, the number of HD's, optical drives, fans, etc. need to be known.

We also are going to need to know a price and what features you want out of the supply.

I have another question. Would my power supply generate more heat if it's less efficient if it's using less power? Like I'm only using 220 watts on my 420 watt psu.

for price? I'd say $100-$200..

Im wondering more of how much power I need... Before the one I picked out was antecs 550 watt power supply for $110 I was just wondering how much I really need..

I'll have a sata hard drive... 2 7800gtx's so those will need to be plugged directly into the power supply...

Yes, the less of the capacity is used, the efficiency will generally go down, causing more heat.
