I just ordered an Apex Kit from Voyeurmods before the Ultra's take over. I want to be really safe with my expensive components so MCT-5 seems worth the extra cost. Am i gonna need more than one 32oz bottle of it or is one gonna be enough to get it going and have some leftovers for topping off?

Also, would it be smart to get some metal worm clamps rather than use the Swiftech plastic clamps that come with the kit? If so, whats a good place to guy those?

This is my first WC build, so im a bit paranoid... :)

if you run a fillport and not a res..not that much at all..but basically depends on that...i used roughly 1/4 of a 32oz bottle when i did mine..mine runs BIX and a MAze4 cpu block w/ 3/8" tygon... .with a fillport.
 
Well, i just ordered one jug of the MCT-5. Someone please let me know if i need to order a 2nd...
 
You should be alright, unless you have a big spill then you might need a second bottle ;) at least you know your comp would be alright in that case :p
 
you should be fine.

i used a full bottle on this set-up, which is a LOT of hose, and a huge res... it took a full bottle, and like 1/20 of a second bottle to fill.

my friends loop here, which i would assume uses more liquid than the apex kit... used about 2/3 of a bottle... but we wasted a little at 1st, getting the color right.

so one should do you, and have some left for topping off.. some day you will want a 2nd one.
As for worm clamps.. any home depot, lowes, Ace, etc.. you can find them.
 
I filled my apex ultra kit last night and I used little less than half a liter. That's without a gpu block and about 2.5 feet of tubing left over. So you should be fine with one liter. No leaks yet! Patiently awaiting my 170...
 
i have, and my friends too. Probably about 15 orders over the last year between the 3 of us. Usually very good, can be occassionally slow. Usually good about answering an email of phone call. Make contact, usually they have an answer, and are friendly.
 
it IS ok to run MCT5 in an Apex kit rather than the Hydrix stuff right? Am i gonna void any warranty that i have?
