How much bleedthrough is acceptable?

I'm just curious as to what you guys think is an acceptable ammount of backlight bleedthrough? The reason I ask is I expect a 150$ 17/19" to be poor quality, whereas spending 4-500$ on a 22"+ LCD i'd expect hardly any bleedthrough.
I have a VX2245wm.

I can contest that I get a little bit of faint bleed with my 22" Gateway on the top and bottom. I'd imagine what is acceptable differs from user to user. The amount on my screen doesn't bother me the least bit

That's what i figured, it's not that bad, but i wasn't sure. I was thinking about returning this for another model, seeing as it doesn't support HDCP.

Wait til your stand breaks. :)

That would be bleeding awful! ;) Is this a known issue with the 205bw? I can't recall reading this anywhere. What are your sources?

*Edit* This last statement could potentially get me fired.

I'd get one that supports hdcp. My samsung 225bw has exceptionally light bleed. I was hoping for none, but this is so little I dont worry about it.

I had a $400 Dell 2007WFP with the runt S-PVA panel and there was no extreme backlighting in the sense that one area was lit up more than another. What it did have was a sort of crystalline pattern with faint triangles of color shooting out from all 4 corners and radiating into the the center. The corners were sort of even and the over-all effect was sort of "snowflakey".

Now for $600 I have an NEC 20WMGX2 that has no backlighting at all. The screen has a faint luminosity that gives away the monitor is on but its very faint and the the whole thing is very even and smooth.

I think for the Dell I would have had to live with the "snowflake" thing because it wasn't a flaw as much as a $400 20.1" panel being what it is. The NEC is also being what it is and that's about perfect.

It doesn't really bother me much ever because i'm always in a fully lighted room...
