I have the CNPS7000A-AlCu (see sig)

currently it idles at 40C, load 48C

Just to compare, a 92mm Panaflo Medium, which is rated at 2450rpm, pushes 48cfm. The fan in the Zalman 7000s should be in that ballpark too. Give or take a few cfm.

Is it possible to replace the stock fan on the Zalman with another 92mm variety with higher CFM?

someone was talking about it before. If they werent so damn expensive i'd get one and try it myself.

It is possible but it's not as easy as just swapping the fan. Some creativity is required to actually mount the fan to the heatsink due to the non-standard mounting method Zalman uses.
