How much air does Zalman HSF push?

currently it idles at 40C, load 48C

Well, pimprig.com estimates the output at, "The heatsink is 109mm across and 62mm high, the biggest I've ever seen. The 92mm fan in the center is rated for up to 2400RPM but I haven't been able to find any CFM numbers. Given the specs it should produce between 35 and 40 CFM."

Just to compare, a 92mm Panaflo Medium, which is rated at 2450rpm, pushes 48cfm. The fan in the Zalman 7000s should be in that ballpark too. Give or take a few cfm.

It is possible but it's not as easy as just swapping the fan. Some creativity is required to actually mount the fan to the heatsink due to the non-standard mounting method Zalman uses.
