ok im building a new computer and i would like to know how many watts i would need.

here are some parts:

msi sli mobo
1gb g.skill pc4400
winchester 3200 or 3500
1 6800gt, i will get another one later
200, 250, or 300gb hdd (only 1)

ok, i was thinking of the enermax 600w sli psu but its a little expensive at $170 and i dont think i need all that power. so im basically trying to save some cash.

thanks in advance for any advice. if you can, please suggest a particular psu also.

ignore the total watts, what you need is a supply that once its derated for temperature outputs a minimum of 26.7 amps on the +12V rail

so since most supplies are rated at somewhere around 25C
and your far more likely to have an operating temperature closer to 40C or more

Id recommend either a Powerstream 520\600, Enermax 565 series, or a PC Power & Cooling SLi

the OCZ and PCP&C are actually rated at 40C (and are good for 34A on the +12V rail)
