How many Radiators is necessary

I drew this out because I had a lot of time on my hands.. Anyway, I was wondering If the 120mm Radiator on the side of the case was needed. I'm Running Dual MP2000+ (Upgrading to 2800+) and I really don't feel like having a rad on the panel the case gets opened on. So will the 1 Top, 120mm Rad be sufficient?
 
Short Answer: maybe
Long Answer: Typically two 172 watt peltiers would dump too much heat into that loop for it to be worth your time from a cooling standpoint, but dual AthlonMP boards aren't exactly high overclockers anyway, so the question becomes what are you hoping to gain from going peltier?
 
A peltier will never make anything quieter. More heat cannot mean less noise in any case...

Black Ice pros would be better for low noise because they pair better with slower and less powerful fans.

Also, the D4 pump wont be quieter, go for an eheim 1048. You wont see much of a performance loss and it will be far quieter.
 
Well, I figured it runs at about 120degrees. So I'm replacing my twin Thermaltake Volcano 9s with these waterblocks. so I'm losing fans right there.. Cept I'm just have 1 120mm fan running. I don't see how it won't be quieter..

dual peltiers will dump alot of heat into your loop, which a single 120mm rad will have a hard time dealing with, so not only will you most likely need a larger rad you will also probably need faster and therfore louder fans to cool it. If you dont plan on overclocking, and you really cant on most MP boards then id just skip the peliters and grab a couple good ol fashioned water blocks.
 
my info says that they are 226 watt TECs not 170's. either way 2 170 watt pelter are going to need 28 amps there is no way the PSU is going to be able to handle that also 340 watts + the ~135?? watts form the MPs is going to way to much for a single 120mm Rad. two would work but that might even be on the edge if you want resonably quiet fans.

I would suggest dumping the TEC model water blocks instead get two 6002-A you will never get below room temp but a single 120mm rad with a medium speed fan should be able to cool them off resonibly well.
 
if you not overclocking it then why not jsut use straight water cooling for quite...a good dual 120mm fan heater core will plenty handelt the heat load of 2 CPUs... and with quite fans...
 
Water or phase cange or TEC coolin or what ever principal You choose, heat on end has to be transfered to Air. More heat more air to metal contact is needed to cool it down(biger radiator or more airflow). Two high end CPUs can produce 200 watt heat. But if You add two 172 watt TECs then You need to cool 544 watt Heat.
Cooling 200 watt can be done with single 120 mili radiator with dual core. Dual 120 mili dualcore will doo it quiet.
To cool 544 watt You will need full blown dual core dual 120 mil iradiators as minimum and preferable triple or quad 120 mili rad. Anyway You make it it will be more noisy then cooling 200 watts.

Two serial radiators work but in combination with two blocks it will be high stress for a pump and You will need pump with high preasure (and decent GPH)
High GPH pumps aren't allways high preasure so be carefull and read about pumps before You gett one.

Two radiators serial would then work better if You would have one between two water blocks so water cools down before it reachs second CPU. Otherwise second CPU will run hotter.

Parrallel loops would work better and You could use one bigger radiator. Like from pum into a Y peace and then two hoses to each block and then y peace and one hose to dual 120 mili dual core radiator and then back to pump or to a tank or what ever.
Dual loops with dual rads and dual pumps would work even beter but it's waste of money and takes to much space IMO.

if you just want quiet then don't get peltiers, just get straight watercooling and you will be fine with the 1 rad.
 
He might be able to get away with two 120mm's like he has and two of those swiftech 80mm case fan res's to keep it all internal. Or perhaps a dual 120 and a single 120.
