i don't see a connection between 3DMARK scores and game FPS.... 3dmarks is essentially a game, a graphic card performs differently with each game, and you cant say such and such gets 50 fps in DOOM3, thus it will get 60fps in half life.
There is absolutely no connection, especially as all games are different and are usually played at all sorts of diffrent quality levels and resolutions.
The score you get on 3DMark is for comparitive purposes only. The tests on there are the same for any computer so that they can be fairly compared.
To be honest no matter what video card I have or use even the best at that point in time I turn all eye candy off in FPS games so I can kill easier and be guarunteed max frames. I don't know why you would play any FPS online with all settings maxed anyways you would be playing at a severe disadvantage against clans and other well organized teams.
THe other games such as MMO's and single players aren't as dependant. You don't need everything low in an MMO to be on the same footing as the next guy becuase it won't matter usually. Granted lower settings will help keep frames up in an MMO but sometimes you need to see all types of effects to know what to do next :/.
6600GT or higher or an ATI card of same or better is all you need and 6600GT is good enough to be honest if you play FPS online for the most part. Anyone with a better machine won't matter unless they have a better ping .
let's see... what was your total score? if it was like 6000 and now it's 7000, that's about 14 percent faster over all... so think about in in terms of that, because there are many different tests, so you can't just assign a "frame" value to your performance jump for the whole enchalada...
