I do, without a doubt in my mind, it is the best way to go (IMO).

do most of you with DRs use the hack?

I've got it in mind for later, but haven't seen cause to use it yet.

If there's some blatantly obvious reason I'm missing, though, feel free to let me know.

Some of the more talked about features i dont use, such as MLU, ISO 3200 and FEC i dont use.

What i use most often though are the focusing modes (although i wish he'd get on his horse and fix the AI servo :p ). And more often the ability to change file format from the LCD (which is a custom function). I also lowered the size of the JPEG files that is included with the raw, this gave me about 20 more shots, and although i havnt tested it...in theory it should make for quicker buffer clears.

I'd guess the biggest advantage to it for those who dont have a 550EX is the FEC which allows you to adjust the output of the flash, something that the 420EX doesnt have (like the 550) and more importantly, something the 300D doesnt have on it out of hte box.

I used it before.. it was kind of hard to get on (I use a 2.2gb CF). It kept screwing up, but fortunately, it has some firmware protection (i.e. I won't end up with a dead camera if I turned it off halfway, which I did many times).

But every once in a while when I took a picture, it wouldn't register and the camera would turn off.
