I have a highpoint rocketraid 404 (i think) Its the one that supports raid5 for IDE disks.

Anyway I'm using it now to build a raid 1 array for a 250gig disk. How long should the mirroring proccess take?

The 454 (which is really the 404 with different drivers) is the raid 5 one.

I'd guess a few hours; theoretically it can go at full disk speed, but they usually don't get quite there, so maybe 35 mb/s or so. For 250gb, that's 2 hours or so.

oh ok. I was thinking maybe the card was damaged or something. When i had it setup as a raid 5 it never rebuilt. But this mirror took about 2.5 hours. So it's good, just slow.
