How Long Does It Take...

So I'm wondering how long it takes for the power to completely leave(?) the power supply in my monitor. The reason I ask this, is because when I got my new monitor 19" ViewSonic UltraBrite A91f+, I locked the OSD or On Screen Display (all those buttons that adjust sizes and such). And now I can't change resolutions or anything useful like that. And now I can't unlock it. The only way to unlock it is the same way I locked it, Holding 1, and downarrow for three seconds... the only thing is I cant seem to get it right, infact no one at my house can. So I think I can fix it by unplugging the monitor for a long period of time, and it will flash the memory or something like that. Maybe?

All I know is a VERY long time. I have never lost any settings in a monitor before. Too bad there isnt a ALL RESET button like Dells and some older monitors have on them.

Well...you could take off the outer caseing and discharge it (If its a CRT)...but thats dangerous ;)

C'mon, you don't want to make a grounding prod and poke your monitor until you hear a loud bang?

This is probably a stupid thing to say, but have you called ViewSonic?
