My computer more than 6' away from my monitor because of my goofy room setup. Will I lose quality if I use a 10' cable?
Thanks.

Hmm, I'm no expert but I think you'll be ok. If it was like 50 ft, maybe even 25 ft you might have a problem, but its 10.

I thought the standard is 6 ft. But Apple has been making cable that are 50 ft or so. But I can't see how you can lose signal at 10"

I would say that it also has to do with the quality of the cable. I had a 10' reach I was trying to make, and bought some speghetti sized cable for cheap. I had really bad ghosting on my crt because of that. I then spent a few more bucks on a higher quality cable, and the problem went away. Just buy a nice thick, quality cable and you will be fine.

Just get a quality cable and you'll be fine. I had some awful ghosting as well when I used a cheap 10 footer.

Would you consider a 10' VGA cable from monoprice to be cheap quality? I'm looking to buy a higher quality cable for my ghosting problem on my FW900 monitor.
