how long before BTX takes over?

I don't understand why case manufactures and mobo manufactures need to change layouts because Intel can't fix their own heat problem.

This news coincides with an announcement from a firm called FSP, which said today that it has been selected by Intel as a "seed manufacturer". This isn't poppy seeds, it's a power supply manufacturer which introduced the BTX compliant FSP275-50BW and FSP200-50PLJ power supplies earlier this month.

FSP = Fortron, those model numbers tell you that "approved" BTX powersupplies are 200w and 275w :eek:

this is definately for business workstations, as a 275 watt psu can in no way power a modern P4 and a modern video card, well, at least without exploding... :p

FSP = Fortron/Sparkle.

These appear to be PSUs for picoBTX systems, which will be kind of like current SFF systems, only larger :p

They'll probably start showing up in a couple years and then may'be another 5 or so years before they could possibly be standardized

This is dumb. If anything, heat problems are more severe.

Ah well, AMD is cheaper anyway.
