I bought a spare Opteron 148 last month, and decided I am going to use it in a new build. I really don't know how this stepping is though so if anyone how has heard of it or who has it give me a heads up on what to expect that would be great.
It is a CABYE 0543

Thanks, I normally preach Google but I honestly didn't think I'd find anything that thorogh.

Typically those do 2.8GHz +
Definately a better stepping than CABGE, but a bit below CAB2E and CABNE (FX-57 steppings)

So I should be able to get it to the levels on my current rig, thanks guys that's all I wanted to know. :)

Isn't CABYE steppings between CABNE and CAB2E?

I used to think so too, but now I'd say it's too close to call. I had a CABYE that couldn't do 2.7GHz, but my CAB2E will do 24hrs Prime stable at 2.8GHz with 1.42v. From what I've been able to gather, on average CAB2E and CABYE will hit about the same speeds at the same voltages. Like any stepping, each has it's share of clunkers and gems.
