I've been looking for a cheap upgrade from my Syncmaster 910T. I thought what about the

SAMSUNG 941BW

Brand SAMSUNG
Model 941BW
Panel a-si TFT/PVA LCD
Screen Size 19"
Widescreen Yes
Display Type WXGA+
Maximum Resolution 1440 x 900
Recommended Resolution 1440 x 900
Viewing Angle 160°(H) / 160°(V)
Pixel Pitch 0.285mm
Display Colors 16.2 Million
Brightness 300 cd/m2
Contrast Ratio 500:1
Response Time 4 ms (GTG)

Now I love everything about it, except my current 910T has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and I love the black blacks etc. Will I see a huge difference? and is there anything else about it that may be bad about it.

Trust me, you don't have black blacks with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, though I'm certain you'll notice the difference between medium gray blacks (500:1) and dark grey blacks (1000:1).

The specs you listed say PVA, but everything technical suggests TN. The 160 degree viewing angle and 500,000 colors with dithering (16.2m) means the colors on this monitor are going to be as poor as the blacks.

I don't think you're going to like this monitor, it doesn't seem like much of an upgrade at all. More like a trade-off. You're sacrificing color and image quality for response time. If you really want to upgrade, plan on spending about $300.
