I was always curious as to how it works, I have 2 e4300 on the SMP clients and FAHmon tells me that I'm only doing 350-400PPD.
 
It extrapolates it based on the point value of the current units your clients are working on and the average time it takes to complete each frame. Basically, it's: Σ{[(minutes in a day)/(minutes per frame)]/(100 frames/workunit)}*(point value of current unit), where the Σ means that you perform the above algorithm for each client and add them all together to find your total PPD.

350-400PPD does seem extremely low though; I have a Pentium D running at 3GHz that puts out about 700PPD on average, and you should be doing a fair bit better than that. Do you have the clients set up properly on both systems?
 
If they are running at stock clocks , E4300=1.8GHz, it doesn't seem that far off. The WinSMP client I'm guessing?
 
Something is not right there.

My Dell Vostro with C2D 1.4Ghz (2 MB Cache) could do 600 PPD with winSMP.
 
as always it depends on which work units you get. I have an e6300 running winsmp and it only gets around ~500ppd. Which is the same as if I was running 2 x uniprocessor clients.
