How is eVGA for video cards? To be more specific their PCI-E 6600GT.
 
I believe eVGA makes Nvidia's reference boards... and I usually see BFG>eVGA>the rest
 
My eVGA 6800 GT AGP is a great overclocker. I just wish they used something other than the ugly green PCB.

i got an evga PCI E 6800 U... nice card..i had RMA'ed my 6800 GT pci e for this card thinking i could get a little more performance . I notice it at times but its very slight increase in performance. comparing this to other cards would be difficult to say since i dont have any ATI's newer gen or any other 6800 U from a diff manufacturer. But from what i hear and have seen is that BFG comes with lifetime warranty , and evga comes with a 2 yr. Unlucky me. ohh well, but it blows the 9600 pro (old vid card) out of the water.
yeah thats an unfair statement but its true.
I did hear though that BFG makes the cards great but the problem is that the box it comes in. it caused parts to fall off... lol.. I will try and find the link for that. I think it was on [H] . I know thats a bit old news BFG probably fixed that. But anyways i went with eVGA because i had some of their previous cards. No probs whatsoever

You send the card back in almost new condition with the original box and everything that came with it, and you get the value of the card towards a higher level model in eVGA's lineup. So, for instance, you "step up" from a 6800GT to a 6800U. By sending the GT back, you already have $400 towards the U.
 
I've had great luck with my eVGA 6800 (non-ultra) and it could fully unlock the pipes. I also like their concept of the step-up plan and do have it in my intentions to use it to get me started on my next rig (6800GT SLI)

agreed, when i upgrade in the next year an a half or so, ill probably use the step up program (depending on how much my beast is worth)

i have reached up to speeds of 420/1.14 stable (for about 2-3 hours, CS:S artifacts after that) but running it at ultra speeds is no problem
 
I just got my Evga 6600gt agp today from Monarch. Right out of the box coolbits upped the core/mem speed from 500/900 to 585mhz/1.07ghz. Brought my 3dmark 03 score up to ~8500(from 7500 stock). So far I'm very pleased with it.
 
I liked my eVGA 6800GT PCI-Express that I bought a second one for SLi. :eek: They've been great so far.
 
Ihave purchase 6 cards from them. Thier customer service is second to none. You cant go wrong with this company. 2 year warranty is all most of us need since we usually upgrade every 6 months to a year.
 
A friend sent me a link to this thread, and I registered here just so that I vent my anger at Evga to the world. Fell free to ignore my rant.

I bought a 6800Gt from Evga, overall I was pleased with the card it was a whole lot faster than the 9700pro that I had been using. About a month after I had the card I woke up and found that my computer had turned its off during the night. I pressed the power button and the pc turned on but nothing ever appeared on the screen. I plugged in an old tnt2 (which came out of my parents computer when I replaced it with the 9700pro) and the PC booted up fine.

So I head over to the Evga website and fill out the RMA form. Found the problem with my card on their drop down box of possible problems and hit next.

Which got me to the screen asking, what type of shipping I would like them to use sending my card back to me *and* ask me for my credit card number, so they can charge me the appropriate amount. I have RMAed a few parts before, but this is something new to me. I have trouble following this logic... they produce a faulty component, which broke on me, now I have to pay them to fix their mistake for me? Anyway I decided to pay for 2 day shipping, because the tnt2 that would be replacing it cant run World of Warcraft and I would like to get the most value out of my subscription. The shipping price wasn't completely unreasonable ~$13 for 2 day I think?

They sent me an e-mail informing me that my RMA status was pending and that I would need to wait 1-3 business days. Three days later I get my RMA number and send my card out UPS 2day. And according to my tracking number they received that package 2 days later.

12 days later I get an email from Evga telling me that they processed my RMA and I would have a new video card in 3 days. I paid ~$30 for fast shipping both ways, but if I knew it was going to take them almost 2 weeks to do anything I wouldn't have bothered.

But that isn't even the worst part of my story, I finally get a new video card from Evga. Excited I run to my computer, rip out the useless tnt2 put my new 6800gt in and boot my PC. The bios flashed flashed up on the screen and my fist though was, “W00t! Now I can play WOW for 8 straight hours to make up for the 20 day of my $15 a month subscription I missed.” My second thought was, “Wow, I never noticed that my bios used blue text when it posts.” My third thought involved language that I don't care to repeat here.

So now I was staring at my windows desktop through a blue haze. First I checked my VGA cable connections, then I plugged in a different monitor. Everything was still blue, when I got out my DVI to VGA adapter and hooked up the monitor everything worked fine. So my brand new card has a broken VGA connection.

Right now I am still using the broken card, and I'm waiting to find a decent deal on a non-Evga card. At which point this card will be one again RMAed (And if Evga thinks I will be paying them for their service this time they are sadly mistaken) and sold. This was the first and last Evga product, I will ever own.

Wow, that was long, I feel sorry anyone reads all this. I just needed to complain about how much I hate Evga. Ummm... and if anyone wants an evga 6800GT in a few weeks, well I'll have one :)

Sorry to hear about your situation. :( It was a good read, and should provide some good insight to anyone on this board who is not familiar with eVGA's RMA processes and protocol.
