My rad9500 pro just started giving me a lot of display corruption, and I'm going to RMA it with ATI, as I have a 3 year warranty. Does anyone have any experience with ATI's service in such a situation?

Thanks.

I had to RMA my X800XT PE back in Janurary. I had it back in around 15 days.

I've RMA'd about 3 of their cards (keep in mind that's out of around 60 I've used, or at least built systems with) and they have pretty damn good RMA service.

I hope mine doesn't take that long. I'm stuck on a TNT2 until I get my replacement.

I think you should be asking what <insert card brander/manufacturer name here> rma policy is like, since youwont be rmaing it direct to ATI i wouldnt have thought.

There are such things as BBA card, where you order directly from ATi, and since his card is older the chance that he got an ATi one goes up even higher.

I had a horrible experience with them years ago (before you could DL their drivers)
and well I refuse to buy another ATi product based on that

Just advance exchange it. You can use any credit/debit card, and they'll send you the replacement first. Then you put your dead card back in the packaging and ship it off. They usually 2-day the replacement.

How does one go about doing that? I've just been using the RMA section of their webpage, and I haven't seen anything pertaining to that option.

Give them a jingle, or send an email. They'll send you the ppw, and then you just scan or fax it back.

They send the ppw in the mail? Wouldn't they just e-mail you a form and you e-mail it back?

I sent a 9700Pro in a few months ago and got a 9800Pro back in about 9-10 days.

Just make sure when you call that you know how much you're getting charged. I called to talk to tech support first and tried to fix the problem. It seems, however, that AT&T thinks Canada is "International" and charged me $70+ for that 45 minute call (where 35 minutes was spent on hold).

I've had to RMA my 9800Pro twice. Both times ATI was really good about it, had it in about 9-10 days.

They take only a couple of days to look at the card, and then they ship it to you overnight. The longest time is my part in the slow (cheap!) shipping I used to send it to them.

they had me a new 9600p in less than a week. i only buy BBA cards now cause of that.

I RMA'd a 9800 XT a few weeks after it came out, got a new one back in 4 days of shipping it. I was impressed, they don't even care that you overclocked the snot out of it I've heard lol.

Their service is just awesome. Took only about a week.

I second that. I had a 9800 that randomly started on fire (yes, it was smoking up the case) and I sent it back to ATi, just said it stopped working, and about a week later they replaced it.

I wonder what kind of card they'll send me, since they don't make 9500s anymore.

Either a 9600XT or a 9800pro I suspect. Perhaps a *vanilla* 9800 but we'll see.

LOL speaking of my experience... I had a 9800 non pro (paid 300 at the time instead of 400 for the pro). They dont make the non pros any more so they gave me a 9800 pro when they replaced it, but they just clocked it down to non pro speeds, so you know what that means.

A friend of mine RMA'ed his 9700pro, and they sent a 9800pro back in return.
I see the 9500 / 9700 relationship as similar to the 9600 / 9800 relationship, that's why I suspect you will probably get a 9600xt. But i'm just guessing. How about you email ATI and ask them, they might know.
