How is 6000 series Linux support?

I'm looking at getting a new card that supports bitstreaming. I was looking at the brand new GTX 560, but also the 6000 series (69XX specifically), as my board only supports Crossfire. So to anyone with a 6000 series card, and also runs Linux, how is it? I don't need bitstreaming support under Linux, but I will be using the HDMI port for my audio. I just need decent support via the Catalyst driver. I've strayed from ATI since my X850, so I'm completely out of the loop

The HDMI support in Linux as a whole is solid (I have an HD5450 and dual-boot 7 x64 + Sabayon 5.5 x64 and *could* toss my X-Fi XtremeGamer entirely; there are some X-Fi-unique features that I use on the Windows side, though) for HD4xxx and up, even *without* the Linux Catalyst (FGLRX) driver in place. For HD6xxx, right now, the reason to stay with the FGLRX driver is the graphics acceleration support (all too useful for the heavier desktops, such as GNOME and KDE; on Sabayon, KDE is my default desktop by choice/preference).

The X-Fi-specific feature I find too useful to toss (in Windows) are the Environment Presets (which I use for audio and video; not gaming).
