i have to rma a motherboard that died when it was being used and it was inside a mod and, tape was involved... when i was taking it off, i noticed a sticker on the bottom pci slot that was ripping and when i touched the tape, it sorta just fell off

the sticker is the one i circled in this pic (i had to borrow this pic from mini-itx.com so credits to them for the pics)

how important is that sticker?... i need to rma this motherboard and the sticker had fell off and in pretty bad shape

anything i needa know?

thanks

It could be i,portant if you RMA it, but you never know. You may have to check terms and conditions to see if it has to be RMA'd in "Original condition". They may understand if you tell them.

altho aside from the sticker, the motherboard is in perfect condition... it looks like i just took it out of the box

i got it from newegg... i checked my invoice and im still allowed to RMA and i got an RMA number today so im hoping to send this out in a few days or so

thanks

but if i tell someone on the fone, how would the person opening my shipment know about it?... should i write a note and leave it in the motherboard box?... i dont want my RMA turned down and stuck

when you write the note make sure to include the name of the person you spoke to on the phone. ive wroked in customer service/claims for a while and i know for a fact that just mentioning a name lends you a lot of credibility. if anything, it gives a reference for the person opening the rma to check.

but how would i explain to the person on the fone tho?... that i damaged one of their possibly record-important sticker or something?... would i still be able to do the RMA?

if the sticker means nothing, should i just say it was never there?... or nah, that would not be good to lie about this

would they like, let me do it or something?

thanks

They should rma it, how long did you have the board?

Mod Edit - In all cases, if you have questions on a return, your best and fastest source of information would be the vendor you are doing business with.

If what you are looking for is advice on how to cheat or otherwise deceive the vendor, this would be the wrong place to ask.

Please read and follow the rules, OK...??

Thanks - B.B.S.
