i never liked using compressed air over and over. and i figured out a solution that has worked great for me, and eh i never thought to mention it. so im just throwing it out there.

i got one of these free with a vacuum cleaner:

and i connect the intake hose to the exhaust fan. and i get a really powerful blower, especially with the crevice tool.

might be an option for anyone using alot of compressed air.

its filtered air, and i never blow while electricity is running through the mobo, and i live in a humid environment, so there might be a risk of static in your circumstances, and thats the benfit of canned air. but eh, i open up discussion on whether or not this could be damaging to someone's pc.

I did the same thing with the same vacuum to my sister's computer, it was so dusty... seemed to work well though. :)

usually here at work i fire up the vacuum along with the air compressor, so i can suck up the majority of stuff as it comes loose and begins to fly up into the air

I was always told that vacums have some crazy static outputs, so i've always been a compressed air guy.

I haul my out to my work shed about once every few weeks and blow it out with my air compressor ....caned air was getting too expensive

Air compressor and fine tip paint brush work so good on my old case i had dust problems with

I live at sea level, so humidity's usually ok, and thus static isn't that much of a problem.

What I recommend doing with the vacuum is to use it to suck out loose dust. Loosen the dust with whatever you have on hand, and then suck it out. Anything less is probably too stuck on to be sucked up anyways.

That's where the isopropanol and qtips comes in.

+1 :)

that's what i always do. Plus if your computer weighs 60lbs like mine, you get a work out while doing it another +1
