Well, I have been playing with my new 6800GT for most of the day and I have run into a pretty serious problem. It started when I was playing in Far Cry, after about 30 minutes I started getting white spots on textures. I figure it was a temp problem and sure enough it was. It was running at about 84C by the time I got out of FC. So I thought I would try the HDR demo and let it run so I could monitor temps. I came to a frightening conclusion that the card is simply heating up and never reaching a plateau. I let it run for about 10 minutes and the card reached 96C and still climbing! The ambient temp in the case was over 70C. I have never had this problem before...my 9700 was nowhere near that hot. I have fans blowing air in and sucking hot air out, but it isn't enough I guess...any suggestions outside of watercooling?
