I'm going to be building a new rig relatively soon and am probably going to get a Lian Li case. I have never cut a Lian Li or anything intricate before and i want to have a window that involves flames, so i was just wondering what kind of experience other people have had. Would a dremel work best for this, or should i look into other tools?

I'm not going to have a terribly small design but it will still be fairly difficult i'd imagine.

thanks.

Flames are about as hard as any other design. I personaly would use a dremmel to cut them out, but everyone has there own. Main thing is dont try to cut on the line, give your self some leeway. Then file it down to the correct size. For long straight cuts you can either use a dremmel or a jigsaw with a guide rail. Main thing is just practice some simple cuts, like a circle, a wavy line, a straight line, and a box on a scrap piece of metal. That will give you some idea of how your tool will cut. Above all go slow and take your time.

JEEVES

I just did a window mod to my Lian Li case. Very easy to cut since it's alluminum. Just take your time since, due to it being softer than steel, you can screw up easier.
