How fast is M.2/NGFF?

I went through a few pages of Google and didn't find much. I think I read somewhere that M.2 is the same speed as SATA3. Is this true?

There is very little info out, i havent seen like real standards, but there are some threads with some info,

Personally im waiting to see them hit retail, but i somewhat doubt it, seems more oriented for ultrabooks, but my GENE VI has a M.2 port =)

Haven't really looked at new motherboards, but I think most Asus have M.2.

I hope they hit retail because Lenovo is using NGFF in their notebooks.
