im was wondering if i had a good 2.4C chip and corsair xms 3200 that did 230mghz, how high of an overclock can i take the cpu?<let's just say that the 2.4C had no limit on overclocking ability, i just want to know how far the ram would take the cpu>

thanks for your replies

And does anyone know how well a 2.4C with: SL6WF MALAY stepping oc's?

i'm gonna use some twinx corsair xms pc3200, and i was wondering how far that might take the cpu?

i got 512mb corsair pc3500 and im at 3.3ghz from 2.4c, can I go any higher?

w/ pc3200 at least 3.0. w/ somthing good like XMS, i'm saying a 285(+/- 5)FSB w/ a 5:4 divider(329 mhz in bios). things get kinda sketchy w/ a 3:2(ram set at 266mhz in bios). (edit: btw, @285, ram is running at ~450mhz. u will probably need 2.7-2.8 volts. no worries here, ram is next to impossible to burn out now a days, especially w/ a heat spreader on it, even though they are not very practical).

br1zz0, what divider are you at, pc3500 from what i've seen you can take it to arround 500ish mhz stable.

most ram you can take to the specs of the next step, but rarely over.
i.e. i have pc3200 @pc 3700 speed. pc 3500 shoud be able to run at pc4000 speed if it is a good ram. anything from OCZ, Muchkin, Corsair, some Geil, kingston ect....(most use Samsung chips) will be able to hit the 2nd "spec" speed ahead.

edit: br1zz, if u haven't alreayd put u'r ram at a 5:4 divider and try upping from 275 to around 290ish. @296 the ram would be at 500mhz. you will have to up the voltage also. most ram manufactures say minimum is 2.6 even though mobo default setting is 2.5(2.65 on AMI bios, not sure about others). try 2.85 if you reach FSB speeds in upwards of 290+. You will also have to up u'r CPU voltage. what are you at now?? don't go above 1.7ish. then u run into heat and possible chip destruction unless you have good cooling at hand.
