Well since I honistly see no need for any video card right now past the 9700 Pro for me. (I only do modert gaming But I like my AA and AF) Anyways. Been playing around with the Rage 3D Tweaker and Not quite getting the results I've been hunting for.

Well lets lay out the subject.

ATi Radeon 9700 Pro.
- Mods: Ramsinks, Vantec iCEBERQ4 VGA Cooler Binded using Artic Silver 5

System as stated in the sig.

Now heres in the info I need. What kind of speed are people commonly getting. Please only people with the Built By ATi 9700 Pro as the saphier uses diffrent memory and commonly a faster core.

I was able to run my BBA 9700 Pro at 420/365 24/7, but that was with an 80-watt pelt and a waterblock.

ATI%20Accelerator.JPG

Extensive testing has shown that it will go 57 yards. However, if you crumble it into a ball shape first for better aerodynamics, it will go 78 yards.

Just kidding, your title made me think of this picture :)

My former 9700 pro, also cooled with the Iceberg 4, went to 380 Mhz core without artifacts. Ramsinks did not increase the mem speed; I think it was 335 Mhz.

I think your theory about ATI using different cores than Sapphire is false.

With stock heatsinks, I've never been able to overclock the various 8500/9100 and 9700/9800 cards I had by much. 30-40MHz on the core and an equally pitiful amount on the memory. The X300s and X800/X850 cards I had did overclock very well though.

Listen to this man. He has gone through more cards than an automated card shuffler.

Oh snap!

2.5 years old. Amazing project with leet iceburg cooling. Fantastic!

Whoa. Good catch. I had no idea this thread was so old.

If anyone still cares:

9700 Pro with a copper AMD cpu heatsink, Clocks to 420/380 stock volts.

Mine did around 370/351 stock cooling, then 380/355 with a 1U HSF/Copper RAMsinks. Arrived to a final 435/358 with 1.78v/3.1v running through it (mem was Samsung -2A). Even with all that voltage it ran a lot cooler than my X1800GTO.
