Dan just wondering what you would change in my rig.,I bought this rig with a limited budget, upgraded from a xp2700 that i ran at 400fsb x11.5 for 2 years and basicly wanted something faster and im not planning to overclock much, atleast not yet.
Intel Core2duo e6600 at stock speeds
ASUS P5N32-E SLI /0602 bios
BFG 8800gtx stock speeds
Corsair 2 gb kit 533ddr2 stock speeds
Sony dvd dual layer burner (yea i know i was a dope ,should have gotten a sata but havent upgraded since Carter was president so i didn't think that far -.- )
Tagan Easycon XL 600w psu
Seagate Barracuda sata 2 320gb
Antec P180 case
This was a huge upgrade for me,my first PCI-E system and sofar i love it to bits
Had some issues with the mobo at first, for some reason asus elected to have pci as primary display in the default bios,NOT PCI-E wich i found extremly odd since the board has 3 pci-e slots.I wasnt planning on using my old 6mb canopus voodoo 1 card but hey maybe someone intends to.
Since i'm noobish with pci-e i had issues looking like those with the evga boards, locking and hanging issues, not being able to install any os but after disabling linkboost and nvidia gpu ex plus the above mentioned ive had no problems with it,just that some parts of ntune crashes and if i install the network manager software i cant use bittorrents.Dunno why but i got a warning that the nvidia firewall was installed but cant find a reference to it anywhere.Uninstalled the manager and p2p worked flawlessly again.
Running oblivion now with max settings and aa/hdr is a relevation compared to the lacklustre experience with the ati x850xt agp with the old pc but i have that with every game i used to play,it's damn hard to stop grinning while playing tbfh hehe
Should i enable linkboost or the nvidia gpu ex ? Will they make any difference ? Any tips would be welcome but keep in mind that compared to what i had this is nothing i need to overclock at this time.
